Untitled, On Purpose

Not many would know but when I first joined X10 (influencer marketing), I did not come from a sales background. But I soon discovered that sales is in everyone, in every transaction, interaction and that it’s also a lifelong, transferable skill. Especially so in our industry where we are the daily rainmakers to pitch and get everybody onboard undertakings that did not exist and will not exist if we were not (t)here.

While the initial purpose was to build my own career and the company, the inevitable consequence of which is also to continually create the new age opium of this century. I had loved creating content far before this stage of my life. I liked sharing what life experiences I had through writing blogs, fiction, pictures of food and nature.

But the tsunami of the internet wave has brought upon the incessant need for a frantic demand to vie for attention, and tutorials trying to guess what would speak to the masses. Creativity is distended when we do that; it hinders the creator from truly doing what they want. And for the creator, it makes them lose focus, if not, their heart.

It is time to step away from this chaos and reflect what is next. In this age where we have the most powerful cameras and the strongest distractions, I hope that your freedom of expression remains truly independent.
